Motive Monday #17

Good morning

Welcome to another Motive Monday. Can you guess who this is??

Born on January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She grew up in extremely poor conditions along with a vary emotionally charged childhood. Her parents spilt before she was even born, thus starting the tail of misery and disappointment in her young life. She was constantly moved around from living with her Grandmother, then father and then her mother. Her only friends were farm animals and she was often mocked at school. When she was 9 she was raped by her cousin, a family friend, her uncle and even her Mother's boyfriend. Due to all the abuse at home she finally ran away at age 13. Shortly after at 14 she became pregnant. Unfortunately her child passed shorty after birth. She took this as a sign from God and decided this was a second chance to turn her life around. Even through she was surrounded with all this turmoil she stayed strong and focused. She was taught by her Grandmother to be a God fearing individual and also taught her to read and write at the age of 3. She took her education vary seriously and moved back in with her father who was even more strict with her schooling. A new seed was planted.

She was elected school president and was giving the opportunity to meat Richard Nixon, who was president at the time. She then enrols at Tennessee State University 1971 and began working on there radio station, then 1984 moved to Chicago to host her own radio show AM Chicago and the success continues. In 1985 she stared in the movie The Colour Purple and received her first Academy nominee for best Supporting Actor. She launched her first hit Talk Show in 1986 and in 2000 launched her own magazine witch was the most successful magazine at the time. Her remarkable success got her ranked #1 on the 2005 Forbes list of Power Celebrities. Fast forward to 2011 she launches her own network.

If you haven't figured it out yet, this remarkable, goal setting, God fearing woman is none other than Oprah Winfrey. She is now listed as the richest African American Woman of the 20th century and all she started with was a dream. This Motive Monday was to show you that doesn't matter what you start off with or how poor your situation is, you can over come it. Believe in God, believe in yourself and never give up doesn't matter how many times you fail. Oprah did it, so can you.
